Free calculator
Compare products by the numbers.
A $40 bag is not automatically cheaper than a $25 bag. Enter the label numbers and compare cost per 1,000 sq ft and per pound of nutrient.
Label comparison
Fill in both product labels. Coverage, price, bag weight, and at least one nutrient percentage are required.
What is compared
Cost per 1,000 sq ft = price ÷ (coverage ÷ 1,000). Product weight per 1,000 sq ft = 1,000 ÷ coverage. Nutrient weight is the product weight multiplied by each label percentage. Cost per pound of nitrogen = price ÷ (bag weight × N %).
This comparison uses the coverage and nutrient percentages you enter. It does not load retailer prices, verify stock, or claim that one product is better for your lawn. Two products can have the same nitrogen and different phosphorus, potassium, particle size, or application restrictions.
Read the whole label
Check the guaranteed analysis, the application rate, the coverage claim, and the warnings. A product with a low nitrogen percentage may still be the right choice if your soil test says phosphorus or potassium is needed. A high nitrogen percentage is not a virtue by itself.
